Flashback: 1926 Vogue Cover

27 Aug

Excuse my scanning abilities (or lack thereof) but I just love this Vogue cover from back in 1926. I found it while looking at my book “In Vogue” and discovered it on page 51. It was illustrated by popular artist at the time Eduardo Garcia Benito. He was known for his art deco style and did covers for Vogue starting in the 20’s, reaching the height of his popularity later in the decade. He went on to do 144 covers for the publication, which superseded every other illustrator in the history of the magazine.
