3 Cool Things to do this Week

12 Jul

Keep busy with these fun events this month:

Monday July 11th

“Horrible Bosses” is funny and is definitely easy to relate to, especially if you are part of the daily grind in NYC or any other place for that matter.

Saturday July 16th:

Visit the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria to see the “Jim Henson’s Fantastic World” exhibit. It actually showcases the real Kermit that Henson used. Cute fact: Museums have actually been complaining because they’ve had to stock up on glass cleaner because kids keep kissing the glass. Jane Henson (Jim’s wife) will also be present as well as others that have worked with him.

Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Ave Astoria, Queens 718-777-6888. Tue–Thu 10:30am–5pm; Fri 10:30am–8pm; Sat, Sun 10:30am–7pm. $10, seniors and students $7.50, children 3–18 $5, members and children under 3 free. Fri 4–8pm free; film tickets free with museum admission. July 16–Jan 16.

Through July 31st:

Don’t miss Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty at the MET. Everyone is raving about it. It features McQueen signatures such as the “bumster” pant.

The MET, 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY (212-879-5500) Tue-Thu and Sun, 9:30am-5:15pm; Fri-Sat, 9:30am-8:45pm; Mon, closed. $25 suggested contribution, $17 senior citizens; $12 students.
