Part 1: African Safari Cheat Sheet

12 Mar

To be honest, I’ve never been on a safari. It’s definitely a trip of a lifetime and something I’ve been dreaming about for some time. It also happens to be a bit of a fear of mine as well; the fact that you are observing wild animals in their true environment seems a bit overwhelming. In addition, you are visiting a place that you are unfamiliar with and could be quite dangerous.

For anyone who has the luxury of taking such a trip should really look into staying at Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway. Located in South Africa, this hideaway is malaria-free and one of the few protected areas within the region. This is one place where you won’t mind being amongst tourists. There are 8 suites complete with your own pool and private deck for game viewing.

How To Get There: Major U.S. international airports such as JFK  and LAX fly to Johannesburg (Tambo International), which will probably cost about $1,100 round-trip at least. Air France is always a good option when flying to Africa. When you are planning your vacation, arrange for a shuttle from Clifftop. I would not suggest driving at all.

What To Bring: Lots of sunscreen and tan clothing. You cannot wear anything bright during a safari.

Please Note: Africa can be a very unsafe continent. Please consult a travel agent if you choose to plan a trip such as this one.
